Afternoon everyone….

We passed the framing inspection that I posted about last week. The next move was making the building waterproof.

What that entails: installing the windows, installing the entrance door, (not the roll up garage door), wrapping the plywood sheathing with Tyvek wrap (which is a moisture barrier and wind barrier), installing the siding and soffits, installing a frost barrier and felt roll on the roof, installing a ridge vent at the peak of the roof, installing the shingles on the roof, and installing the gutter system.

Yes, this sounds like a lot of work, and it is. But would you believe that all of this was accomplished in one day? Well it was….

They started at 7:10am with an eight man crew. Three guys on the roofing and four guys on the rest. One guy was bringing materials to everyone all day and cleaning up.

This is what it currently looks like.

The electrician started today doing his rough out and connection to the house panel. I was told that it would take him two full days.
