I did a post last week of guess how many coins were in the pile of Kennedy half dollars. There was a very nice response to that little game.
So I decided to try another game…..
Guess the grade.
I’ve done this a few times in the past. Let’s see how well the response is for this post.
This is a graded large cent from 1833.
For those of you that might not be 100% familiar with the coin grading chart. It’s called the Sheldon System created by William Herbert Sheldon in 1949. The scale was modified slightly in 1970 to this current scale.
Here is the grading chart:
MS (Mint State) 60-70
AU (About Uncirculated) 50, 53, 55, 58
XF (Extremely Fine) 40, 45
VF (Very Fine) 20, 25, 30, 35
F (Fine) 12, 15
VG (Very Good) 8, 10
G (Good) 4, 6
AG (About Good) 3
FA (Fair) 2
PR (Poor) 1
Now for the coin…
