There are many reasons in this world, to not trust in any fiat system. Wether it’s the US dollar, the Canadian (Monopoly money) dollar, the British Pound, the Chinese Yuan, the Lira, the Euro or any other fiat.
That is why most if not all of us are on this platform. We believe in crypto currency, and many but not most believe in precious metals instead of any fiat currency.
There are so many forms of silver that one could stack, collect, or even wear. While there are counterfeit silver items out there, for the most part aside from a very valuable coin it’s not typical. Silver is too cheap of a metal for counterfeiters to waste the time and effort on it. It’s like counterfeiting a five dollar bill, would you make money yes. But is it worth the effort….
Gold on the other hand is something that is often counterfeited. Bars, rounds, even jewelry are highly counterfeited. Why? because of the price.
Coins on the other hand are very unlikely to be counterfeited. Why? Because it is a federal offense and if caught there is zero tolerance. Don’t get me wrong I’ve seen a few in my day, but fake gold bars are the number one most counterfeited item in the world. YES THE WORLD!!!
They are far easier to make then fiat money, cost way less and are much easier.
So that brings me to my topic for today
I am going to start off by saying, for liquidity reasons it is always better to stack your local countries coins then any other.
With that being said…
This is not about liquidity. It’s which gold coin would you prefer to stack because of its look? These are all bullion coins, not collector gold coins.
First off the American Gold Buffalo. First released in 2006, and still is produced. It was designed after the Buffalo nickel.
Second is the American Gold Eagle. Originally minted starting in 1986. The reverse was changed half way through the 2021 production.
Third is the Canadian Gold Maple Leaf. This coin has been produced since 1979, and is the second oldest government minted coin.
Last is the United Kingdom’s Britannia. This coin originated in 1982, but was not a bullion release until 2013, when the finesse was changed to .999 pure.
My personal favorite is the gold Buffalo. Which is yours? Or do you have one that I didn’t list?
