Well since I cant afford to buy anything, I’m going to share another coin from my collection.
This is a PCGS Graded MS66FBL 1950 Franklin Half Dollar. For those of you that do not collect numismatic coins the FBL designation means ”Full Bell Lines” And commands a higher premium then just a regular Franklin Half Dollar.
If you are wondering why? The reason the FBL is so important. The Franklin Half Dollars were known for having very weak strikes. Most experts say that only 5-10% of the Franklin Half Dollars have “Full Bell Lines”.
This coin is also CAC sticker. If you are wondering who CAC is. The full name is Certified Acceptance Corporation, they do not grade coins at all. What they do is if they believe that coin has been graded to the standard of the slab then they give it a green CAC sticker. If they believe the coin has been undergraded then it will receive a gold sticker.
Getting a green sticker is not an easy task. There approval rate is not very high. And in all my years of collecting I have only seen one gold sticker coin ever. It was at an auction several years back.
So enough on that, let’s look at the coin....
