Afternoon everyone….

Did you know that nearly seventeen million tons of copper are mined each year.

What’s crazy about that number is that on 2-3% of that number is stored and not used.

With so many electrical devices in use today. This commodity metal is of great importance to our every day life.

The leading countries of mining copper are:
Chile with 5.7 million tons mined in 2020.
Peru is second with 2.2 million tons.
China is third with 1.7 million tons.
The fourth is Congo with 1.3 million tons.
And in fifth I’d the United States with 1.2 million tons.

The country that uses the most copper is China. Pretty obvious with all the electronics produced there.
