Afternoon everyone….
Well I’m back to the grind today. I was trying to find some time to do a total recap of our Las Vegas meet up. But yesterday was very hectic dealing with shop build stuff and upcoming jobs.
I will get a recap post out this week I promise
On a different note, if you read my title you will understand why in a moment. Aside from stuff that I bought while in Vegas, I also had a bit of stuff waiting for me from @summertooth, who I split buys with in order to hit the free shipping number. Then there is also the gifts that we all end up giving each other as well.
Here is the case of stuff brought back….
It has become a kind of tradition now since I and I believe @summertooth initiated it on the first year of the meet up. I had velvet pouches with silver rounds in them that were picked out for each of the attending members. I think
@summertooth handed out silver cards that year. While this is by no means a requirement at the meet up, it seems that everyone enjoys participating in their own unique way.
@dfinney goes overboard with goodie bags filled with all sorts of cool shit. A pair of airplane bottles of liquor. This year because of Saint Patty’s day was a bottle of Baileys and a bottle of Jameson. Oh…. And be ware because she is a very sneaky glitter bomb person. You have been warned.
I gave out Intaglio Mint rounds to each attendee. You know my deal with their rounds.
Before I get to the silver reveal for today. I thought that I’d tell you the story of being stopped for bag inspection as per usual with these Vegas trips.
So my bag as always gets X-rayed and gets rejected to get inspected. So the guy grabs my bag and brings it over and says “what is in this bag it’s really heavy?”. I quietly told him that I had come from a coin show and had a full case of silver coins inside. I asked if I could pull the case out, so that I could be discreet about it. I said if you need to go through it can you please not make it obvious what’s inside.
He said that he didn’t need to go through it since the cover was clear. He then asked me if I wanted security to walk me to my gate…. I said that was unnecessary and would draw more attention to me, and then said this isn’t my first flight like this. He smiled and said have a safe flight.
I thought that was humorous!!!!!
So today’s reveal from the filled box of tricks, is a gift received from one of my northern buddies in Saskatchewan, Canada. That would be @fat-elvis.
It’s a 2012 Perth Mint Koala coin. The air-tite is pretty scuffed up but the coin is in perfect condition.
Thank you my brother @fat-elvis for the cool coin.👍
