Is it true that mobile phones has more germs than a toilet bowl?
This is something that's said a lot, but I'm not sure if it's true or if there's any good way to test that.
But by and large phones are extremely filthy and it might be possible they are even more so than a toilet when you think about it. Toilets are something we all know are full of germs so they get cleaned and disinfected often for the most part so there's no skid marks and it doesn't smell too awful with nothing in it. But people really don't think about their phones in the same way, you know?
And yet your phone screen is constantly being touched by germ-covered fingers, yours and sometimes those of others. It's being held to your ear which is full of germs, you speak towards it in general which means your spit and germs are getting on it. It gets tossed into pockets and purses that are full of germy surfaces, people use them while sitting on the toilet and set it on counter spaces that are full of germs, ect.
With most people having screen protectors to eliminate smudges, finger marks and cracks there isn't even really a need to wipe down the screen with some kind of cleaner at any point let alone something disinfectant.
So yeah I'd say it's a fair bet your phone is absolutely gross but I'm still not sure if it is dirtier than a toilet bowl.
