Yes, and I'm not afraid to say it.
Many softwares jack up their prices (all things Adobe, anyone?) and are not accessible to those of us with little to no disposable income. There are games I would love to play but I can't justify the price of buying them against other necessary things in my life for a game I can't guarantee I'll like. Same thing goes for movies; the theater is expensive for just one movie and purchasing a copy of a movie I can't guarantee I'll watch a few times over is something I can't always justify in my expenses, same for a box set of a tv show if I'm not sure I'll like it.
Piracy allows me to have the softwares I need to do things when they are too expensive to afford. It allows me to test drive a game, watch a movie or tv series to ensure it's something I'd want to watch multiple times before spending money on it.
What this means is that things I don't enjoy I don't spend money on, and I save that money to buy other things instead. Companies that produce things at affordable costs that I actually enjoy get my money instead.
You know what the only downside to piracy is? Companies that are already making millions or billions of dollars miss out on some sales. At the very, very worst companies that aren't producing good quality products and charging affordable prices are forced to change their ways or go out of business, both of which are actually good for the common people.
Piracy is a way for people who don't have the money to afford these digital luxuries to still have access to them. And in the event these people decide they really, really want to spend their hard-earned money on such things they know it's there for when that time comes.
