Dear Hivers,

This is not a spectacular sight:

HivePrice.png

You see, in the last 24 hours, Hive has dropped over 30% in price.

Which means your account balance is lower by 30% — and it doesn’t carry the same value as it did yesterday.

Now, we can sit and debate all day long on this. Perhaps even look at a couple of conspiracy theories. But rather than diving into the past, I want us to launch into the present.

Rather than why – I want us to look into the what.

Question is: what can we do next?

You see, price fluctuation isn’t uncommon in this industry. If you have been around, you have probably noticed a swing of 30 to 50% in a single day.

This either takes us a step back — or a step forward.

And I wanted to state a couple of reasons why it will take us a step forward.

Of course, no one wants the price to go south. If and when it happens — in that moment — you can do this:

If you are an investor, you can always buy Hive low and sell high. Simple, isn’t it?

Nothing new there.

For publishers, though, there's gold as you can do a lot of things:

  • Write more
  • Engage with the community more
  • Earn more (as the price is low)

Few Observations From The Past

Let's dive into the past.

In many ways, Hive is closely related to Steemit not just in terms of functionality but also operations.

Taking this into consideration, we have observed a strong correlation between the number of posts and the price of the token.

You see, when the price is high, people are financially motivated to post, isn't it?

As the financial incentive decreases, people tend to be disappointed — and publish less.

This is where the hidden opportunity is:

It is no secret that tough times test us. If you take this as a tough time, the opportunities are endless.

For example:

Imagine people are posting less on Hive when the price drops.

Here's what happens:

#1: Better Rewards

If less people are posting, only those people get to share the reward pool. Given the current drop, this is arguably the right time to publish more.

(Pretty clear by now)

Tip: Challenge yourself to post regularly. Do check out my own challenge to actively post twice a day.

#2: Better Content Discovery

If less people are posting, there’s a good chance that your post will be taking the trending spot.

Your post will be visible and continue to earn attention and rewards. Sounds good, isn’t it?

#3: Better For Long-Term Holding

If you are a long-term holder, I think it's safe to assume that your goal is to acquire as much Hive Power as possible. A lower price gives you that opportunity!

So there you have it...

Every time the price of Hive drops? Don't be disappointed. Rather it is a fantastic opportunity waiting for attention.

Any publisher here can take advantage of the low price – do more and get more in return.

Not only do the rewards get better but even the content is visible and you can enjoy long-term benefits.

These are valid reasons, right?

If anything, posting consistently also helps us improve ourselves.

Question is: Are you ready to say YES?

I certainly am.

Cheers,
Sid
