Yeah, the Greeks didn't try very hard with their monsters. Half-this, half-that. In fact I saw an ad for some guys web comic, I wish I remembered the name of it. The main character had a father that was a minotaur and a mother was a mermaid, so he looked like a normal human because he got the bottom half from his dar and the top half from his mother.... I guess the genetics science actually supports his premise.... :)
