I didn't have a Java Jaguar strip today, because I spent all of yesterday grinding out about 4000 words to finish up a short story that I committed to writing as part of the FOTIA Anthology (part II).
That is the Fellowship of the Indie Authors, a group of... well, Indie Authors. I met up with them over on X last year about the time they were publishing their first anthology, I was a little late to the game so I did not submit anything for them.
But this year, I thought, "web comics just ain't paying the bills, I know, I'll become an author!" Actually I've already published a couple of books and plan to release a series of fantasy novels at some point in the span of my life. I've already started on part 1 of the Crystalamancer series, I just always get distracted by flashing lights and such. So, I thought, I'll take part in this anthology and be forced to accept a deadline, and then I'll wait way until the deadline is close and then do all of my work at the very end when it is close to deadline just like my time at the University of Hawaii.
It worked. I spent a good 8 hours yesterday finishing up my story. Set it aside, read it today to correct any glaring errors. And you know what, it's not even due until tomorrow!
I am ahead of the game!
Actually, lots of the authors finished their stories last month...
So anyway, I will publish the story here on the HIVE BlockChain, although not until after the anthology is published. The anthology theme was "Sentient Weapons" this year. So, I wrote a whole story about sentient weapons that you can't read yet. Sorry about that.
But, the Fellowship also will be looking for art for the cover and interior of the book at some point, so.... here's this! A digital drawing of a sword... on a throne! Doesn't her look sentient? Maybe some googly eyes added on later....
So, anyway, sometime late this year expect to see a paperback release of the Fellowship of the Indie Author, volume 2 "Sentient Weapons" anthology with (maybe) this artwork in it. They actually haven't started the process yet for submitting artwork. Weird, I'm ahead of the game on the art side.
Oh, yeah. Here is the timelapse video showing the process along with an added bit of animation created by AI at the end... because that's a thing that I do.
All this to say, you get a sword on a throne instead of a Java Jaguar strip today.
