This is my entry for the weekly Splinterlands contest found HERE
Here is the original card art:
Mine looks more like Angry Aragorn. I wanted him to look more Dementor-ish, probably should have unhinged his jaw so that he looks more like Edvard Munch's The Scream.
Created in Clip Studio Paint Pro on a Microsoft Surface Pro 7+. Here is the timelapse video:

And here is the step-by-step drawing process.
Step One: Rough draft. I use a 40 px pastel pencil to block out the rough shape, then refine it a bit with a regular pencil tool
Step Two: Line art. Went with a much narrower G-pen so he looks less like a comic book character.
Step Three: Hide the rough layer and make a flat layer
Step Four: Make separate clipped layers for hair, cloth, leather, metal, and small details like eyes and teeth
Step Five: Shading!
Step Six: Create an overlay layer to add some reflected light
Step Seven: Background. I used AI to generate the background layer, then zoomed way in on a tiny portion of it. I wanted a grave yard with green mist
Step Eight: Added a cast shadow from our ranger and some other mist in the background layer. Also made his axes magic.
Step Nine: Sign my name
Step Ten: Profit!
