Splinterlands: Synergy between the 'Painforge' and the 'Reckless' ability!🔥

In this post, I’m going to share a new, tested synergy I’ve discovered. You might recall that I’ve previously shown how to boost the power of the 'Torrent Sniper' card by combining its 'Painforge' ability with the 'Electrified' ability of the 'Shock Trooper' card. Specifically, a card with the 'Painforge' ability gains +1 attack power whenever it takes damage from an allied card—and since there is no limit to this increase, I’ve long used the 'Shock Trooper' and 'Torrent Sniper' together. From the second round onwards, when the 'Shock Trooper' inflicts a 'Shock' effect on the entire team, the 'Torrent Sniper' gains +1 attack power, making it increasingly lethal alongside its inherent magic power. Recently, I upgraded my legendary card, 'Sten Slatehelm,' to level 2, unlocking its 'Reckless' ability. This ability deals 1 damage to an allied card every time a successful attack is performed. This means there’s no need to wait until the end of the round; the 'Torrent Sniper' can strike an enemy with an attack power of 2+1 right from its very first attack.😎

Previously, I relied on the Shock Trooper to activate this synergy; now, however, I also have Sten Slatehelm, who enables the Torrent Sniper’s 'Painforge' ability to function in the most effective way possible. In this battle, I utilized all three—Shock Trooper, Torrent Sniper, and Sten Slatehelm—but if the mana cap is lower, or if for any other reason I can only field two of these, I prioritize pairing the Torrent Sniper with Sten Slatehelm, just as I did here. One crucial point to keep in mind is that you should avoid placing these synergy-dependent cards in the last position; otherwise, an enemy with the 'Sneak' ability will target and eliminate them first. If you are forced to place one of these cards in the last position, ensure it is not the Torrent Sniper—since it takes at least one point of health damage every round (due to the Shock Trooper or Sten Slatehelm), you need to preserve its health so it can continue to unleash its powerful attacks against the enemy.

I have written this post specifically to highlight this synergy; therefore, the attacks you see in the screenshots belong to these particular cards. Note that I mentioned 'Torrent Sniper' can attack with +1 attack power starting from the very first round because of 'Sten Slatehelm'. Sten Slatehelm has a speed of 3, while Torrent Sniper has a speed of 2. This means Sten Slatehelm attacks first; immediately afterward, due to the 'Reckless' ability, Torrent Sniper takes 1 damage, which in turn boosts its attack power by +1. Consequently, when it becomes Torrent Sniper's turn in the first round, its attack power is already enhanced. Furthermore, at the end of the round, the 'Shock' effect from 'Shock Trooper' deals another 1 damage to Torrent Sniper, granting it yet another +1 boost to its attack power. This cycle repeats in the following round. If your team manages to survive for just two rounds, Torrent Sniper’s attack power will reach 2 + 3 = 5 magic damage—a very impressive level for a magic-attacking card.

You can use all three of these cards, or choose between Sten Slatehelm and Shock Trooper—just ensure that your synergy-based team gets some protection, at least for the first 1–2 rounds; you’ll need to be careful with how you position them in your lineup. I’m not just mentioning this synergy at random; I’ve tested it in dozens of battles throughout this entire season, and the results have been excellent. I truly believe you should give it a try—if you set everything up correctly, these cards won’t let you down in the slightest.
