Created in Clip Studio Paint Pro on a Microsoft Surface Pro 7+. Here is the timelapse video:
And here is the step-by-step breakdown of the drawing steps.
Step One: Rough draft
Step Two: Line art of the rough draft
Step Three: Hide the rough layer and create a flat color layer.
Step Four: Create separate clipped layers for the different colors. Hair, pants, jacket, shirt, brass and leather.
Step Five: Shading! She's a scout so she probably spends a lot of time outdoors, so she's got a lot of scuffs and dirt on her clothing.
Step Six: Create an Overlay layer for the highlighted areas
Step Seven: Details. Mostly the eyes and lips.
Step Eight: Background. I generated a mountain background using AI.
Step Nine: Sign my initials at the bottom so that everyone knows it's an original Matt S. Law art.
