So, at some point, Mary collected some ti leaves and made some clothes for herself and Phantom Lady (at super speed). She has the same grass skirt she was wearing at the end of the Prom chapter. Although this time she was not drunk so she remembered that clothes need to also cover top parts. It occurred to me later that Phantom Lady's top should have been woven into a lauhala pattern... you know, like this:
After all, those are leaves not bandages that would wrap around her. Also, according to Duck Duck Go's AI, the average length of a ti leaf is 12 to 24 inches. No way those would wrap around Phantom Lady's chest.
It should be noted, that ti leaves are used in Hawaii to protect homes from lava flows, so I think that if Mary had a fight with Pele right now, her grass skirt and top would be lava-proof.
The "Sexy Mummy" is a reference all the way back to Chapter 1. When Miss Fury beat up Phantom Lady so that she had to do a photo shoot covered in bandages. Which also reminded me that I've been forgetting to paint in that giant bruise on Phantom Lady's face for the past 20 or so panels.
I blame it on the poor lighting... over the volcano.
