Back to cramming a bunch of dialog into each page to try to wrap this chapter. I originally had more "background" speech bubbles of random people talking. Resort staff and such. Mentioning semi-important plot points, like "Coast Guard sending ship to evacuate" "Where is that drunk, Khan?" "That guy almost got us killed," and "Glad to lose this job."
Needed space so I cut all that out. Although, with the vertical scrolling format I suppose there is no reason I couldn't just make the panel an inch taller. Or have the word balloons extend off the top of the panel. Hey, all those people are background extras that aren't even important enough to be in the frame, their speech bubbles can be out of frame, too!
Anyway, I am living on the streets around the El Cerrito area, for the next few days. I drove about 5 miles out of my way to stop at Panera to draw this drawing and to charge my phone.
And it looks like Moon Girl (for the second time) was physically defeated after getting drunk in a bar. I plan to make a short, spicy strip to cover "Moon Girl's date with-" oh, wait, this dude doesn't even have a name. Someone, give me a name for (checks casting call sheet) "Tiki Bar worker number 2!"
