Preparing for the next chapter of The Real Superheroines of Hive Valley. Mary Marvel hasn't gotten much screen time, so she gets to be the lead in the next chapter. But, more importantly, she needs a rival.
So meet, Mindy Miracle.
I think most people are familiar with Shazam since he's had his own movie and another on the way. But Billy Batson was bestowed with power by the wizard, Shazam. When he calls out the wizard's name he gains:
The Wisdom of Solomon,
The Strength of Hercules,
The Stamina of Atlas,
The Power of Zeus,
The Courage of Achilles, and
The Speed of Mercury
and turns into the hero, Captain Marvel! That's right, NOT Shazam. He was Captain Marvel, which is probably confusing to most of you. He didn't start going by the name Shazam until DC launched the New 52 after yet another Crisis event which has since been undone.
Which is why Mary Marvel is called Mary Marvel and not Shazam Girl. Or Shazama. When she got powers later, which are powers pretty much exactly the same as Billy's except they were all girl powers (because, really, how can you give a girl MAN powers?). So, when she says Shazam, she gains (and these I have to look up):
The Grace of Selena,
The Strength of Hippolyta,
The Skill of Ariadne,
The Speed of Zephyrus,
The Beauty of Aurora, and
The Wisdom of Minerva.
So, to make a rival for Mary Marvel, we will turn to another ancient wizard, Merlin. Who is a public domain character (and recently made an appearance in Java Jaguar). Merlin decides to create his own champion. So when young Mindy (Surname TBD) calls out the name of the wizard Merlin, she gains:
The Strength of The Morrigan,
The Stamina of Elder Mother,
The Intelligence of Rhiannon,
The Cunning of Latis,
The Grace of Inauaria, and
The Agility of Nabia
I went with all mythological characters from the British Isles, because Merlin. If anyone has any suggested replacements that may be more well known I'm all ears. When the Black Adam movie comes out, you'll see that he's also got the exact same powers, but all based on Egyptian gods.

Hold the phone. I just realized that MICKEY (as in Mickey Mouse) has 6 letters, and he's a sorcerer, so he could totally make a Disney champion.... once that copyright expires in another 50 years.
