Finally! We have some torn clothing!
What's this? Another incredibly obscure public domain character? Actually, Liberty Belle is not obscure, she's been in the mainstream DC comics for a while in the pages of Justice Society of America. And Yankee Girl was re-engineered by AC comics as part of FemForce. But a gal in a dress that goes by the name of "USA, The Spirit of Old Glory..." Yeah, Matt was scraping the bottom of the public domain barrel to find this heroine.
And she actually has an interesting backstory if you check out her WIKI PAGE.
USA was originally a young girl from Philadelphia. She died in 1777 from an illness she received while trying to deliver threads from the first American flag to her Uncle Sam during a snowstorm. But her ghost dwelled over her gravesite until 1941, when a passerby discovered her locket and opened it. The girl suddenly sprouted from the locket as a young woman who wore a blue dress and carried an American flag and the Torch of Liberty. She was now, USA, the Spirit of Old Glory (in other words, the spirit of the American flag).
So, is she like... a U.S.Zombie? Also, I was unclear if her name is U.S.A. or if it's just pronounced phoenetically "Oo-suh." I would assume the latter if she were Samoan.
