VERSIÓN EN INGLÉS

Greetings dear readers.
Today during my morning commute a fleeting thought came to my mind related to my Mamaíta, I am talking about my paternal grandmother, who left this earthly world 20 years ago, she was so young and with a whole life ahead of her, but an illness gradually extinguished her life.
I remembered her because soon my father will arrive God willing to his 67 years and my Mamaita only managed to live 64 years, but during that time she filled us with much love, I have always considered her as a second mother, she was always a woman fighter and worked as a merchant, I think we all carry that in our blood and that has been transmitted to the descendants from generation to generation.
It has been proven that one of those who achieve great resistance are the informal traders, those who go out for long walks in a certain place, that was my grandmother went out to sell her products on the street and there I was accompanying her on her journey, I liked to accompany her and talk during our journeys.
Older people are so wise and always have a new story to tell, she told me about my father's childhood, how I always work to help her with household expenses and my uncles' studies, the different areas of work that he had had to play to get where I was currently, my Mamaíta was definitely a book of learning and stories of adventures and reflection to tell. Likewise, he was the one who guided me through my religious beliefs as a child and even though I have now taken a different path, I thank him for his time in it.
She had an incomparable energy, not even I who was just a child could have her stamina, every day when we passed by the sale of cold ice cream she would buy me one to refresh us from the strong heat and at the end of our journey we would return home where my sisters were and who ran out to greet her with kisses and hugs.
My mom had a gigantic heart where she had a place reserved for her 26 grandchildren, she loved us all equally, she always shared sweets and snacks with us, she spoiled us, pampered us and took care of us while our parents had long working days.
No grandchild got to call her grandmother, because she was like a mother to each of us, hence I felt great affinity for calling her Mamaita, also she never liked the term grandmother, she always said we should call her something else. When I was sick on several occasions she was there at my bedside taking care of me or my siblings and cousins.
A special anecdote that I will never forget about my Mama was a nervous breakdown that I had at the end of the year 2000, there was a lot of skepticism for those dates and I was just a child and I let myself be invaded by fear, until one night very late in the middle of my despair I decided to run out of my house that was 5 blocks away from my Mama's. It was something very strange.
It was something very strange, my parents were at home, but in the midst of my desperation I just longed for my Mama, so I ran disconsolately and arrived screaming and literally knocking down the door of her house until she opened and lulled me in her arms and all fear in me just vanished, because I was in my comfort zone, my favorite place, the arms of the person I loved so much.
Currently I look at my mother-in-law and see the love and affection that she shares with my children and in a certain way she reminds me of her, even though my Mom has not been here for so many years, I always think of her with great affection, even When I didn't have many photos of her left, she has a very special place in my heart, people can die physically, but only when you remember them, that essence keeps them alive in your soul, body and mind.
Thank you friend tibaire@tibaire for allowing me to express my emotions through this initiative I feel like for a reason those thoughts came so early today and then I stumbled upon this initiative, so everything went hand in hand.

I thank you in advance for dedicating part of your valuable time to read my work and may God multiply the support you give to my publication. Blessings.

VERSIÓN EN ESPAÑOL

INICIATIVA: VIAJEMOS A LA INFANCIA // ABRAZANDO PROFUNDAMENTE MIS RECUERDOS [ENG-ESP]

Saludos apreciados lectores.

Bendiciones
