BUILDING AWARENESS IN MY CHILD FOR OUR VITAL LIQUID WATER [ENG-ESP]

A few days ago we celebrated the world water day, to take you to context it was March 22, so in the school where my child studies they are working with the learning project on this vital liquid, and their teachers asked us parents to develop with our little ones some activity with affinity to water, so that in this way they could be part of the development of the project. I was very excited about this idea, because it is the first of many other activities that I am sure my little Josué, 2 years and 6 months old, who is currently in kindergarten, will participate in.

My little boy is big for his age, but very quiet, in fact he still does not speak fluently, he barely pronounces a few words but very short, he can not sustain a sentence of more than 3 continuous words, which was a limitation when it came to explaining something, so my husband had to come up with an activity where he could highlight other of his abilities.

I can't take credit for the idea of the activity, because my husband designed it and I only helped him in the elaboration part along with our little Josué. The activity consisted of highlighting the importance and use of water in our personal hygiene, making use of an image designed by my husband in which our little boy had to fit geometric figures such as the square where there was an image of a baby in the bathtub, the triangle a young man brushing his teeth, and in the circle a pair of soapy hands, all this to highlight some of its uses in our daily lives.

This was not difficult at all, the complication was his explanation of the activity, so there came my role as a mother, I had to ask him some questions such as what the main image represented (a drop of water), what was it for? He would pretend to wash his hands and mention the word hands, and what else do we do with the water? My child generated the sound of the toothbrush and simulated brushing his teeth and the last image was a baby taking a bath so he mentioned the word bath.

In this project my child was able to put into practice the ability to create, to build and although his contribution in words was not much, he was able to show that he had excellent fine motor skills when it came to discerning the position of the geometric figures and placing them correctly, which made me feel very proud of him, I felt that my heart was going to come out of my chest and he was also very happy for this great step he took in his academic formation.

We were also able to enjoy other presentations of his little friends, such as the construction of a four-piece head breaker, a beautiful baby of barely 2 years old watering the plants, a pretty princess singing about water and other children applying the use of water in our daily life, so they made homemade play dough.

All these children are brave, because they had people who were evaluating them and they left their fears behind and with their angel faces and the best attitude they developed each of their projects, allowing all of us present to know the importance of preserving water in our daily life, since this is a renewable resource that is vital for all living beings.

Hace unos días celebramos el día mundial del agua, para llevarlos a contexto fue el 22 de marzo, por lo que en la escuela donde estudia mi niño están trabajando con el proyecto de aprendizaje sobre este líquido vital, y sus maestras nos solicitaron a los padres que desarrolláramos junto a nuestro pequeños alguna actividad con afinidad al agua, para que de esta manera ellos pudieran ser parte del desarrollo del proyecto. Esta idea me emociono muchísimo, pues es la primera de muchas otras actividades que estoy segura va a participar mi pequeño Josué de 2 años y 6 meses, quien está cursando actualmente maternal.

Mi niño es grande para su edad, pero muy callado de hecho el aun no habla con fluidez, apenas y pronuncia algunas palabras pero muy cortas no puede sostener una oración de más de 3 palabras continuas, lo cual resultaba una limitante a la hora de tener que explicar algo, por lo que mi esposo tuvo que ingeniarse en hacer una actividad donde el pudiera destacar otras de sus habilidades.

No puedo llevarme el crédito de la idea de la actividad, pues mi esposo la diseño y yo solo le ayude en la parte de la elaboración junto a nuestro pequeño Josué. La actividad consistía en resaltar la importancia y el uso del agua en nuestra higiene personal, haciendo uso de una imagen diseñada por mi esposo en la cual nuestro pequeño debía encajar figuras geométricas como el cuadrado donde estaba una imagen de un bebe en la bañera, el triángulo un joven cepillándose los dientes, y en el círculo un par de manos enjabonadas, todo ello para destacar algunos de sus usos en nuestra cotidianidad.

Esto no fue para nada difícil, la complicación era su explicación de la actividad por lo que allí venia mi rol como madre, debía plantearle algunas interrogantes como preguntarle que representaba la imagen principal (una gota de agua) ¿Para qué sirve? El hacia la simulación de lavarse la manos y mencionaba la palabra manos, ¿y que más hacemos con el agua? Mi niño generaba el sonido del cepillo de diente y simulaba cepillarse sus dientes y la última imagen era un bebe bañándose por lo que el mencionaba la palabra baño.

En este proyecto mi niño pudo poner en practica la habilidad de crear, construir y aunque no fue mucho su aporte en palabras, pudo demostrar que exponía excelentes destrezas con la motricidad fina a la hora de discernir la posición de las figuras geométricas y las colocaba de manera correcta, lo cual me hizo sentir muy orgullosa de él, sentía que mi corazón se iba a salir de mi pecho y él también estaba muy feliz por este gran paso que dio en su formación académica.

También pudimos disfrutar de otras presentaciones de sus amiguitos, como fue la construcción de un rompe cabeza de cuatro piezas, un hermoso bebe de escasos 2 años regando las plantas, una linda princesa cantando sobre el agua y otros niños aplicando el uso del agua en nuestra cotidianidad, por lo que hicieron plastilina casera.

Todos estos niños son unos valientes, pues tenían personas que los estaban evaluando y ellos dejaron sus miedos atrás y con su carita de ángel y la mejor actitud desarrollaron cada uno de sus proyectos, permitiéndonos conocer a todos los presentes la importancia de preservar el agua en nuestro día a día, ya que este es un recurso renovable que es vital para todos los seres vivos.
