I used cages to climb across a treacherous gap, but the structures felt unsafe under my weight. After failing two jumps with my grapple axe and falling, I landed the third attempt. I climbed upward, witnessed a sacrificial ritual, and rappelled down to crawl past bodies into a new room.
I needed to use these cages to climb and reach the other side. They looked fragile, like they were not strong enough to hold my weight for long. I moved carefully, taking in my surroundings as I climbed over a cage that contained a dead body and some skeletons
The whole place felt unstable, but I had to keep moving forward. I took things slow because I was walking along a very steep edge, and one wrong step meant trouble. The drop looked dangerous, but I had to press on.
My plan was to grapple to the far ledge by throwing my grapple axe while jumping across the gap. I made my move, but I missed the timing. I failed to latch on and fell straight down to my death.
After spawning back, I tried the jump again. Once more, I missed the connection with the grapple axe and fell to my death for a second time.
On my third attempt, I timed the jump correctly and held on perfectly. I used my grapple axe to lock into place and started climbing up. It was a relief to make the connection, though the ascent still felt extremely risky. Small rocks were falling around me, making it feel as though the entire cliff face could give way at any moment.
As I continued upward, I caught sight of someone carrying a body to sacrifice. It looked like some sort of ritual for them, and I certainly did not want to end up becoming one of their victims.
I kept climbing higher using my axes, though I was not entirely sure where the path was leading. Eventually, I reached a spot where some natural light was filtering through, giving me a brief view of the area.
At that point, I was not sure which direction to take next. I opened photo mode to get a better look at my surroundings and noticed some rock ledges right behind me that I could use.
I positioned myself, planted my climbing axes into the wall, and began making my way downward.
I rappelled down toward the exact location where I had seen someone throw the body during the sacrificial ritual. The people involved had already shut the door and gone back outside, leaving the room quiet.
To move deeper into the area, I had to crawl through piles of dead bodies since there was no other route available. It was an unsettling path to take, and I just hoped none of the dead bodies would turn out to be zombies or start moving.
I pushed through the narrow space as quickly as I could and finally reached the next room.
