Lara left her companion behind to search for the Silver Box of Ix Chel. She reported to Jonah via walkie-talkie, when I navigated high cliffs using her grappling axe, rappelled into a dark cavern, and swam through underground waters, that led us to a hidden lost city.
Lara pushed through the next gate, leaving her companion behind with the hope that she would be able to manage on her own. Her main focus now was to locate the Silver Box of Ix Chel, so I moved forward to begin the search.
I finally stepped out into the open air, where I got the first clear view of my destination at the Eye of the Serpent.
I began scaling the high rock faces, carefully climbing and leaping across the vertical terrain to reach the upper structures of the cliffside.
The climbing and long jumps felt incredibly risky, but I pushed through the danger as there was no other path forward.
I really enjoyed the soothing sound of the rushing river down below, which added a great atmosphere as I watched the traversal unfold.
The visual graphics held up impressively well for a game of its age, showing off sharp details and rich environmental textures.
I felt a surge of excitement watching her navigate the terrain, which made me look forward to trying out the upcoming Tomb Raider game as soon as I finish this entry, if it comes out for PC soon.
I then needed to throw the grappling axe while jumping in mid-air to swing across a massive gap between the cliffs.
I hoped the movement would execute smoothly, and sure enough, she swung cleanly like Tarzan or Spider-Man, landing safely on the far side in one piece.
From there, I ventured deeper into the shadowy, dark interior of the mountain cavern, as it appeared to be the only available way forward.
I attached the rope and rappelled down into the dark abyss below.
Seeing nothing but water directly beneath her, I knew she could survive the drop, so I had her let go of the rope to plunge into the deep pool.
She hit the water safely, just as I anticipated, and I immediately began diving underwater to navigate through the submerged cavern passages.
Emerging on the other side of the underwater tunnel, I looked ahead to see what other secrets were waiting inside the cavern.
As I moved deeper into the cavern, a massive underground discovery began to unearth itself right before my eyes.
I looked down to check pm a breathtaking lost city built inside the cavern, complete with ancient temples and sprawling structures.
I grabbed onto an overhead rope line and slid all the way down into the lush, waterfall-filled valley surrounding the ancient ruins.
I then discovered a basecamp tucked away near the valley floor, which allowed me to save my progress.
With the game saved, I decided to quit the session for the time being, planning to return and explore the lost city later.
