Here is the finished drawing for my own finish this drawing challenge. A busy cat in a busy city bought a cup of hot coffee despite the weather.

This is the starting point of the finish this drawing challenge that I am hosting, like I said in my challenge post I don't know what this initial sketch would become. I'm now considering a dog or a cat walking outside perhaps to buy a hot cup of coffee. That's it I will pause this write up and proceed with my idea.

A few minutes later it is now looking like a cat. I am not confident that I can draw a dog but I think a cat is easier for me to draw. I adjusted the size of the pupil to give it a relatable cute look. I went for that buying a hot cup of coffee, gave him an umbrella maybe I may add a little background later if time permits. He is wearing a collared shirt or could be a jacket or raincoat not sure hey be right back

Here it is after a few minutes of sketching and editing, still looking like a dog or cat but more like a dog don't you think? I changed my mind I made his eyes from relatable cute to squinting. I think he looks excited when he squints more like satisfied now that he has bought a cup of coffee. I adjusted the size of the beani to make it look neat then added a few rounded lines to suggest fur and whiskers. I made his boots smaller than the starting point it fits the proportions of his body well. So far so good I will be right back.

Eight minutes later I am ready with the final line drawing it is still looking like a dog and I don't know how to make it look better but for me this is a cat 😉. I gave him a pair of glasses, added a necktie that floating in the air as he made a brisk walk , the coffee now has steam

Another eight minutes later this is what I had accomplished. The colors decided upon and base colors in place. I chose this shade of orange to compensate for the looks like I said he doesn't look like a cat so this color is convincing myself that he is a ginger 😺. Does he look like a cat now? I pick red for the beani I just felt that it looked warm on him but the issue is all the colors I picked after that just don't work with the ginger and red. I didn't want this to take longer so I went for the safest colors which are gray and black. These colors did not compete but they supported the ginger and red. The color of the necktie surprisingly worked in my opinion. Once all the base colors are set I added more line drawings for added texture and depth. It was almost a lose your patience kind of thing for me but when the colors are working that made me loosen up a bit and relaxed knowing that this is a cute and adorable drawing of a cat. Hope you enjoyed reading and thanks for your support and time.

Wait, I decided I would give it a background that would take me a minute or two to do. Here is a rough sketch of the background. Nothing perfect but enough to make my subject shine and define his environment. Now you see him entering a building. Hope you like it
