India is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi a ten-day festival starting tomorrow and ending on 5th September. This festival is celebrated installing Ganesha's idol at home for ten days and on the tenth day, the idol is immersed in river water which is called 'Ganesh Visarjan'. During these ten days, there is Ganesh pooja followed by Ganesha's Aarti in all the homes. In Maharashtra, there is a public celebration of this festival, huge Ganesha's idols are installed in many places in every city and town. This tradition of Ganesha's worship was started by great freedom fighter Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak to create unity in Indian people against the British.
