I don't eat a lot of fruit, because of the calories. Seriously.
So I thought I would try to grow some, if only for decoration. And because I am trying to learn the art of bonsai, this will be a good application.
I went to the grocery and bought two varieties of apples 馃崕. The other variety seemed to not germinate.
But this Gala Apple 馃崕 did.
Procedure:
I didn't use anything to sterilize the seeds, so I got some mold. Maybe next time I might try a low concentration hydrogen peroxide to clean things before putting in the fridge.
It is unclear if the other variety just needed more time, but I'm also getting ready to move, so I chucked them in the bin and focused on these two Gala seeds.
I peeled the sticker off of one of the apples 馃崕 to remember what type of seeds were in the bag.
Turns out, these apples 馃崕 have a website. I didn't visit it though.
The pot on the left used to house a mame gardenia bonsai. But because I had twin apples 馃崕, I thought they should have the same pots. So one is more used than the other.
Because the apples 馃崕 were sprouting in the refrigerator, I just put them outside for now, even though it is still cool here in Virginia.
That's all for now. I hope to put up more of my plants in the near future.
Enjoy!
