Marble fair for 239 years!

Not a one-two era, a fair is coming for more than two centuries! It seems incredible, but the organizer says that The traditional fair is called Marble Fair. It was held at Paushalikam in the village of Ramananda in Razipur union under Agayljhara upazila of Barisal. Tuesday (January 15th) was the 23rd organizing of this fair. Marble games are going on around 7 km in the village of Ramananda. Marble games are everywhere, on the street, in the courtyard of the house, in the fields of ill-lands, and in the garden. Bamboo-cane artisans, moniharis, toys, sweets, fruits and various types of shops are sitting in the fields. On the occasion of the fair, shopkeepers are sitting on different sets.

Samir Mondal (37), who came to the fair from Kotalipara upazila, said, enjoying the pleasure of joining relatives in the traditional marble game of this area, every year.
