Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! βΊοΈβ€οΈπ
Itβs been a while since I last had samgyupsal, and lately, I find myself craving it. Every time I see pictures of grilled meat, kimchi, and side dishes, it brings back memories of when I last enjoyed it. I still remember the sizzling sound of the pork belly as it touched the hot grill, the smell that filled the air, and that satisfying feeling of wrapping the meat in lettuce with garlic, kimchi, and sauce. π
Looking at the pictures I took back then, I canβt help but smile. The table was full of food not just the samgyupsal but also the colorful side dishes. The grill in the middle, the tongs ready in hand, and that moment of waiting as the meat cooked to perfection. βΊοΈ
Those pictures remind me that food isnβt just about eating, itβs also about memories and the experience that comes with it. βΊοΈ
And let me be honest here, what I truly miss is the samgyupsal itself, not the person I was with back then. π€ (I'm sharing it here before I delete. π€£) Sometimes people come and go in our lives, but the joy that food brings stays with us. That dinner was never really about the company. It was about the experience of finally trying something that I once thought was only a luxury. Back then, samgyupsal felt like such a treat because I couldnβt afford it all the time. The moment I got to enjoy it, it felt like a reward I gave myself. βΊοΈ
Life has its way of teaching us small lessons in the simplest moments. That samgyupsal nights reminded me that happiness can come from the little things like grilling meat, enjoying the side dishes, and treating yourself once in a while. Looking back now, I donβt miss the person, but I do miss how the food made me feel happy, content, and grateful. βΊοΈ
When I reflect on it, the photos also capture more than just food. They show a chapter of my life, a time when I was learning how to enjoy simple joys despite challenges. Itβs funny how one meal can hold so many emotions like excitement, comfort, and even a sense of accomplishment because I was able to enjoy something I used to only dream of.
One of these days, I know Iβll sit again at a table with samgyupsal grilling in front of me. And this time, it wonβt be about remembering the past or who I was with before. It will be about being present, enjoying the food, and appreciating how far Iβve come. After all, cravings are not just about filling the stomach, theyβre about feeding the soul with little joys that make life lighter. π
And maybe thatβs the beauty of it when realizing that we donβt need someone else to make us happy. We can create our own moments, our own memories, and our own reasons to smile. A simple craving can become a celebration of self-love, growth, and healing. β€οΈ
So the next time I eat samgyupsal, it will no longer be tied to someone whoβs no longer in my life. It will be tied to me, to my strength, to my journey, and to the reminder that even in the smallest things, there is joy, there is gratitude, and there is always something to look forward to. πͺπ
Have a Blessed Saturday everyone! ππππππ
