Recognizing that I needed help

One day I looked inside myself and only observed that there was a completely empty shell. How hard it was to realize all that I had essentially lost!
At that precise moment I felt on the brink of a cataclysm, wanting to scream for help. I was no longer able to order things clearly and I did not know how to express myself. It hurt me to know that even that I had lost because they were peculiarities that filled me with pride in knowing that I had them.
I felt tremendously guilty for being that way and more knowing that there were people in worse situations than mine. I could tell that I had absolutely everything, however, I was locked in my room, crying and feeling guilty about something that was not my fault. How selfish I was.
Every day that passed I lost more things, from the most silly and basic things like appetite, the desire to dress or listen to the song of the birds. I lost the desire to see my favorite movies, the habit of reading my literary classics, even the laughter that they told me so much that they liked to see on my face; I replaced everything with crying. My face was excessively emaciated and my dark circles were more marked than those of a raccoon.
Today I managed to get out of the world of depression but I know that there are people who are still fighting a war with this disease so I ask you to be empathetic because being depressed is something terrible....
