Hello beautiful foodies! It's our 6th day of Ramadan. Ramadan Kareem! To all Muslim hive community. Ramadan is a holy month in Muslims and (fasting) as one of the Five Pillars of Islam. Abstained to any food and drink from dawn till sunset.
The act of fasting is meant to remind Muslims of the less fortunate and to reinforce the need to be thankful and often seen as a time to practice self-control, self-discipline and sacrifice.
It is highly advisable to eat high fiber foods during Ramadan.
Today I prepared a simple iftar for my family.
The main course is the chicken curry with dosa (fermented rice) the sambosa (triangles) are given by neighbors.
Dates is important in Ramadan. We break our fast with water and dates.
I grilled sweet potatoes for side dish seasoned with herbs plus black garlic.
Some fruits for rehydration & replenishment.
This is our futoor and the left over food will be our suhoor later.
Fasting has been proven to have a lot of benefits in the body.
