Before you judge me and Tell me I am Cruel, let me tell you What I Feel. It is Traumatic, especially with my son. The Cries and Begging that you Hear constantly seems endless, That while he is Crying to Sleep, Me and My heart is weeping too and praying that he manage to sleep and stop crying.

My Son sleeps well in the night and during the day, but this recent month, We created a Habit that taking him to sleep on our Small Bed. We are Worried about him getting Hurt or Suffocating while co sleeping.

He drifted off to sleep after 40 minutes and the last 10 minutes was On and Off crying. It was very hard and not advisable for light hearted person but anyhow it benefits them in the long run.

Benefits of it is, You are teaching them to sleep on their own, therefore, They can Sleep Better.

Here is What i do to Sleep Training;

  • By the Night, give a Bath. Wind down. A light Play or Reading Books.
  • Put him to bed calmly, a lullaby would help
  • Kiss Goodnight and Leave. When he cried, Soothe him after 5 minutes. a Hush or a Light pat would help
  • If he is constantly crying, just Repeat and make the time longer when you attend him. Say, (5 min then again at 10 min and then to 15 min).

Note: Soothe him on his bed but never carry him or take him out from his bed, otherwise, he would not get the message.

Eventually the crying disappears in few days providing you stick to the routine. Good luck.

Please let me know what you think and what did you do to cope sleep training with your child?
