Agreed, I took very little away from school apart from teachers like to bully as they have never left a classroom in their life.
Back then it was a cane across the backside every time you were deemed to have done wrong, in their eyes.
I got that almost daily. And add in mr Brown the spanker at the gate plus my headmaster that beat me around the face so much one day I was sent home due to injuries.
And that is schooling in the UK. They make no attempt to correct spelling or grammar, that was removed from the curriculum late 1960's.

I spent most of my time at school in lunchtime detention often missing lunch.
