I couldn't feel my body, everywhere bruised from the farm work that had kept me in the village for about a month now. I woke up feeling tired, my joints ache, my hands sore and feet heavy. As much as I felt like doing nothing, I had little choice to that. How could I when farming is our major occupation and that's what we depend on for survival and raising capital to cater for other needs.

Recently, we have been cultivating land for rice farm. It's one of the difficult kind of farming since the soil is hard loamy. It requires lot of rainfall to soften the ground before any work can be done there. Imagine working on such ground for straight a week. I feel tired, usually we hope to regain our lost strength during the night as we lay to sleep. We believe the only way to live out of poverty is to work, and work continually during the rainy season. Those who grew up in the village are already conversant with this way of life, I never was and can't.

Unfortunately we still practice the use of human power to cultivate the ground unlike many towns that has developed with the use of cattle and machine to do the farming. All I feel like doing right now is sleep, eat, and continue sleeping. I don't know how long am going to renew my strength that was lost on the ground of soil tiling, I don't even want to have my thoughts centred on it, all I feel like doing right now is have a very good sleep and a good meal but that's just a wish that wouldn't come true. As long as am a man, a full grown man, then it's a duty that I work and not rest except the night finds favour on me to free me off the stress and grant me a new strength for tomorrow.
