Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
How should a Christian spend his life?
There is always an expectation on someone who wants to live a life of Christ and that's the reason the world expect to see a change from one who's a Christian. Few times I have had people say "He doesn't act or response to situation as a Christian" . By this, it means , there is a standard of living to anyone who's called a Christian and this conformation has to do with becoming like Christ. The Bible said "Christ went about doing good". So the expectation for every Christian living is to "Doing good". As Christians, we are suppose to show this kindness around, that's what differentiate us from the unbelievers.
"To whom should we do good"
The society has taught us "Do good, to those who do us good" and they tag it as wisdom. Christians has also got weary at some point and have decided to go with such principle. To whatever model we should follow as Christians should be Christ who's our perfect model. Even Moses who was regarded as the best leader, at some point failed. Jesus did good to all he met tribal difference, what they believe in, their nature etc wasn't a hindrance to his nature. We are expected to do good to "everyone" , whether from a difference race, tribe , belief and whatever difference it could be.
Who has the first right
The family of faith
Galatians 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Others are also meant to enjoy from our goodness and that's what makes us different from the world but then the persons who has the first right to our kindness should be the family of faith-our fellow believers. No wonder ,people use the quote "charity begins at home" .
What kind of danger threats us when we do good?
Tiredness . And that's why the Bible encourage us not to be weary. There are times to which we may find it discouraging to do good especially when people to which you show kindness to fights against you.
Our creator understand this could occur and informed us ahead to be steadfast in doing good and not faint. The devil may try to discourage our Christian living through various strategies but if we are knowledgeable about the ways of the enemy, we can overcome their Wales.
"What is the promise to those who do good?"
A non-ending harvest. This promise is only for those who remain steadfast and doesn't faint. Those who keep on their good nature despite the challenge and discouragement. Those who keep doing good till the end. The end is what matters the most on the pilgrim journey. To the goodness to which we started, let's hold fast to it.
