English Version:

Did you think it would be that easy to get rid of me? If you can, RUN!

She let the note fall from her trembling hand, while her heart raced at full speed. Her eyes reflected only a bewildered gaze, and thick drops of sweat fell from her forehead onto the floor. There was no turning back.

She could only think about how, until just a couple of days ago, her life had been a common loop — so simple that you could almost predict what followed with each step of the day, or how it would turn out in the end.

For Tina, getting up in the morning in her worn-out apartment, drinking her everyday coffee, gathering her frizzy black hair into a ponytail, getting ready, and heading to her office where she would be lucky to leave by five in the afternoon — or perhaps have to work even later — were her typical days.

Nothing out of the ordinary. She spoke with her mother and brother two or three times a week, helped them financially, and also pushed herself to be more successful at work. She had no partner and no pets. Her apartment awaited her with that warm, old sofa where she watched TV for just a little while before going to sleep, after dinner.

But that day everything changed. It had started just as usual and simple, until, when she arrived at her office, she opened an envelope — a short letter addressed to: "To my beloved Tina", (maybe it's a joke from someone at the office) she thought. And after some lightly written words of love followed an address, for a special meeting at 7 pm.

Tina didn't think much about it, but when she left, she went to a café near work and waited until it was time to take a bus that would leave her near the place of the mysterious meeting.

When she got off the bus, she walked down a narrow alley, heard footsteps but there was no one behind her, so she continued on her way, though with that strange feeling that someone was following her. She walked faster and, without realizing it, she ended up in the middle of nowhere. And on the fence of the abandoned place right in front of her, she saw a note and took it in her hands.

Yes, it was that note — the horrifyingly scribbled letters that made her fall into a moment of anxiety and panic at the same time. And she ran. She tried to hide in the abandoned house and spent the bitterest hours of her life waiting for the first rays of sunlight to come out so she could go home.

When she arrived at her apartment, the door had been forced open. She opened it slowly and on the wall she found those words, the same scribbles written in red like blood:
"I know where you live, Tina. I told you I would love you FOREVER."

On her old sofa she found a necklace — the one Marcos had given her in the last year of high school, on that bloody February 14th, when his confession to Tina was followed by a cold:
"No, don't even dream about it, Marcos. That's not going to happen."

And that public confession ended in worsening bullying for the boy and a desperate emotional breakdown that would end his life in a leap into the void from the highest point of the school. His blood-stained shirt bore those badly painted scribbles that read: "I will always love you, Tina" and around his neck hung the necklace he had given her.

It couldn't be him. Everything had ended that day. She had sunk into solitude after going through that experience and being called "the queen of chaos." It was like reliving that bizarre day all over again. On top of that, it had been a constant grievance for her. After that, no relationship of hers lasted more than a month. Loneliness kept her company because she felt so guilty that she saw herself as toxic to other people.

This couldn't be real. It was too much. So, between sobs, she took a few steps back, when suddenly she felt the door close behind her and a hand grabbed her by the hip, while another covered her mouth, keeping her from screaming. And she heard that voice once again:
"I will always love you, Tina. From now on we will be together... forever".
