Concurso Observa, Piensa y Escribe: Las plantitas de la abuela🪴/Grandma's Little Plants🪴. [ESP-ENG]
ENGLISH VERSION
Always the same plants, placed in the exact same way on the window where grandma used to take care of them.
They have wanted to make many new renovations to the house, from windows and furniture, to changing several things that are somewhat deteriorated, but I have insisted that grandma's plants stay in that special spot where she liked to see them every morning.
There are so many memories, her care for those small but firm and resilient cacti and succulents. Sometimes we would tell her: "Grandma, but they don't bloom." And she, with her great wisdom, would explain that they all had specific times, and the ones that bloomed went through an important process, sometimes taking years, but it was beautiful to see, and it was certainly worth the wait. Grandma, as always, was right.
Some of those cacti were gifts from my grandfather—he always knew how to make the queen of the house smile hahaha. My mother also gave her a small succulent. It was no secret to anyone in the family how her eyes would light up with them, and her habit of drinking her morning coffee while happily looking out the window where she placed her little plants.
And it wasn't just the window; toward the porch, beautiful plants hung down with precious leaves. And grandma knew the name of all her little plants, their watering methods, what was good for them and what wasn't, and she would happily tell us about them.
Of all of them, she always kept the ones by the window closest to her; they were her favorites, and they ended up becoming just as special to me, which is why I want to keep taking care of grandma's little plants with the same delicacy.
