I had an amazing day today. I had a family dinner with my mom's side of the family to celebrate my grandparents birthday which you can see in the picture below. Then I just came back from watching Wonka which was a pretty good movie; I may have to do a review when I'm free.
Anyways after the dinner but before the movie, I was at my grandparents house for a while. My grandpa was telling me to go find somebody and get married which he has been saying a lot since my younger brother got married recently. I do feel like I should start getting to know more girls so one of the ways would be to download a dating app. By chance it also happened to be a prompt for the weekend engagement this week so I thought why not just make the dating profile for real and that's exactly what I did.
The platform I chose to make my dating profile was OkCupid. Overall, the signup process was pretty smooth. I just needed my email and phone code verification to make an account and just answer some basic questions about myself and what I was looking for. Now to look at the three important points I added to my dating profile.
#1 Photos
I tried to choose some good photos of myself and tried to use ones as recent as possible because I don't really take much photos of myself. Honestly, I think photos are what most people see first on a dating profile before even bothering looking into the details so I had to give myself the best chance possible.
#2 Self-Description
I added a lot of information about myself that a possible potential partner would find useful. It would also save time for those that were not suitable for me since for example, maybe they are looking for someone 180cm and higher well that would fail me right off the bat. The things I added here are basically my background, looks, lifestyle, family and pets.
#3 Topics & Questions
Lastly, there were topics to answer and questions to answer. The topics are limited and basically gave more info to those that read the profile. There are a lot of questions which help determine the match % which I think is kind of cool because then you know a person has similar thoughts as you provided they were answering the questions honestly.
Overall, this dating platform seems great and I will probably just play around with it for a while. I'm not too sure if I did a good job of selling myself but I did answer and fill out everything honestly. To be honest, I'm not expecting anything but you never know.
