Introduction
Well today I just wanted to discuss about some cards that I feel aren't too fun to play against and frankly could be considered OP. You can probably guess one of the cards since the title of the post kind of gives a big hint. Also you may have noticed I didn't blog last Thursday and that was intentional. I decided to keep Gods Unchained to one post a week as I want to blog about other topics in other communities.
Bitter Endings
Recently, they already nerfed this card by giving it one mana more but I still feel it's too strong. It's not fun to play against as well since usually they play this card + Anhotep The Embalmer with a decent board of creatures and just hit you at face and win game. The first two games of my ranked weekend was using this card and let's just say I was left with some bitterness losing.
I'd rather have random cards being pulled by Moonlight Shriker than being bitterly ended. Personally, I don't think the take 15 damage next turn matters as the cost to play since usually people are playing it with winning on that turn in mind. I think the add 6 or 7 mana legendary death should be a delve or should be randomly chosen or something. This card still needs to be nerfed or just redesigned! I shared below two decks I lost to over the weekend which seemed pretty solid where one was budget and one was more high end. Also what do you know the person that got first in mythic ranking over the weekend was using a more expensive variation of the Rockdrake combo death deck I posted below.
Thaeriel, The Fallen
This card is pretty popular too so I don't think I have to say much here. This was probably a big oopsie on GU team's part since they locked the card and it cant be changed anymore. This card just provides too much value at 7 mana. The stats are amazing and you basically get to 3 Delve Thaeric cards that all have great abilities. If you take a look at the top mythic players in the ranking, this card is almost teched in every single deck. It's neutral so you can play this card with any god. I feel like a card like this is unhealthy for the game as a card shouldn't be so good that almost everyone slots it in if they own the card.
In addition to that, this card is super expensive sitting at around 500usd if I'm not mistaken so it's not easily accessible to everybody. It seems like a card which you can pretty much use to "pay to win more games" and that's my thoughts on this. As you can tell, I've had really salty experiences going from a winning position to losing after this card was played. I feel for mistakes like this they should introduce a ban list for every weekend. Maybe just ban this card every other week so it can still retain it's value and still be playable but at least not ruining the game experience by being a one card gamechanger.
Hortuk, Fallen Commander
This is also another card that definitely needs to be tuned. It's kind of the new cheaper Thaeriel, The Fallen and almost on par. This just recently came out so I can see why they didn't want to nerf it quickly and the fact it's the main star of this set. I just feel like it's a dangerous game if moving forward all the legendary neutrals will be stronger and stronger and meta defining. However unlike Thareial this card hasn't been locked yet so it still has time to get balanced properly.
Anyways that's enough ranting from me for this week. Feel free to share your thoughts as I'm curious to what other players think. I think it's probably more or less in line with what I've said but feel free to add on.
