When I saw the Pillau Citadel for the first time on the map, I was surprised and amazed by the unusualness and beauty of its shape. And I really wanted to photograph it myself from a height — because it was the view from above that struck me.
A building begun by the Swedes in the 17th century, completed by Prussia, and later repeatedly modernized, the fortress retained its geometric outlines centuries after it was founded. The fortress is located in the town of Baltiysk (former Pillau), Kaliningrad region, Russia. Now it houses a museum.
It was windy at the top, but no particularly difficult weather conditions, it is even strange for the Baltic. But so much the better for me and my drone :) I really enjoyed flying over the Pillau Citadel.
This photo is merged together from three consecutive shots taken from a height of 500 meters vertically downwards. Unlike most panoramas, which I usually make from several shots in Lightroom, I merged this final image and processed it in Photoshop using the built-in Auto align layers tool: shots for the panorama were made with a shift in the shooting point for each subsequent one, so in the usual way the panorama could not merge normally.
It's better to watch the photo in high resolution.
