Catching 200 instead of 50 makes for a much longer day. but it is a enjoyable one just the same.
We use what we call x ways nucs of dadant depth. Frames go across a regular dadant box. This configuration integrates well with regular langstroth hives. 4 frames fit in our mating nucs. just the right number of bees to look after the emerged queen and get her mated. With just a day or two of laying these expand rapidly.
