I try not to think about the state of my country, about politics and policies, about what the government won't do.
For dwelling on it can take one's Spirit from a 9 to 2.
But I can no longer ignore, how can I continue to sweep under the rug?
The multiplication in crime rates, everyone's suspecting the other to be a thug.
Blind eyes are turned to the death of the masses,
The young and old, none is spared, even students learning in classes.
The civil servants the entrepreneurs, everyone scared or going for your duty call,
For in affecting one in effects all.
Are we delusional thinking it will get better? and we going to keep waiting for a miracle that may never happen?
Our identity is at stake our value system almost null and void.
Importance is placed on animals, no, they don't care if human lives are destroyed.
We go on strikes, stage protests, so our voices can be heard,
But it is the guns that speak, they are silent, asleep they don't want to be stirred.
We are left defenseless against the evil that encloses us,
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, instead of acting, they're sitting to discuss.
How do I end this for my heart is aggrieved I wish to set an alarm until a solution is achieved.
But I must arise from here and do.
