One feminist said to me if the Wonder Woman movie doesn't make more than the Logan movie then it proves women still don't have equal rights...wow.
Playing by her logic, Logan is around $617 million gross while Wonder Woman is just under $600 million and the difference between that isn't big. Anyway, I replied saying "Are you going to see the film?" Her reply was just rhetorical questions on women's rights.
Then my response was "I advocate for women's rights too. Wouldn't that make me a feminist?" She said no and someone else changed the subject.
Equality
While I do agree that there are instances of women being treated unfairly in today's world for various reasons, it still isn't valid to link it to markets where males dominate. For example, the sport of basketball is dominated by males due to many factors such as history, attraction and attachment to teams. Therefore, it would make sense for it to be more popular than female basketball. I'm pretty sure women would rather men's basketball simply because it's more saturated.
Ronda Rousey is an excellent example of a female breaking barriers, heightening the self esteem of women and making it more profitable for women to compete in MMA. That is why I respect her.
Duality
Most women do things to a standard men can't reach and most men do things to a standard women can't reach. It's a fact. Women are naturally better at nurturing and it makes sense. It's yin and yang, positive and negative, day and night, north and south, giving and taking, masculine and feminine.
This world can't exist without both.
