The autumn afternoon was beautifully different today. The familiar hustle and bustle of the school field, the children running around, and the gentle light of the late afternoon sun—all combined to create a delightful atmosphere. While I was standing in one corner of the field watching the children play, a student’s mother gently smiled and approached me.
She had a plate in her hand. The plate was adorned with several lovely, shiny dates. With great sincerity, she said, "Here, have some to make your mouth sweet."
At first, I hesitated a bit, but her charming smile and warmth wouldn’t let me refuse. As soon as I picked a date from the plate and put it in my mouth, an unusual satisfaction filled my heart. The date was incredibly soft, juicy, and sweet—sticky in the mouth! To be honest, it was one of the best and most delicious dates I have had recently.
The taste of the food was indeed wonderful, but even more sweet was the warmth of that parent’s kindness. Many times, a very simple gift becomes extraordinary because of a person's love. Today's delicious date and the afternoon chat will remain a sweet memory in my mind for a long time.
