This was going to be her day. She could perfectly feel it as she prepared herself for class that morning. It was going to be a life changing day for her. Maybe she would fall in love or maybe she would meet someone new and interesting. All she knew was that she was going to have a perfect and amazing day.

Rose Anderson was 18 years old. She was a first year student at the local University. She was a delightful young girl who was easy to love and like. She was quite beautiful. She had a quiet elegance and determination in the way she carried herself. More than anything in life she wanted to graduate. But what a boring life Rose lived. She attended the same lectures with Professors who hyped on the same monotonous and depressing songs that were disguised as educational material. The same monotonous routine played out week in and week out without fail until one day it happened!

She was seated in the notoriously uncomfortable lecture room chair, fidgeting as the discomfort in her back became increasingly unbearable. She was barely listening to the lecture as she had already completed her assignment. She was hardly focusing and her mind was wandering to far away places when it happened. He walked into the lecture room! She felt his magnetic presence pull her out of her stuper and into the present. When she finally did look up at him, the first thing she noticed was his eyes. How could anyone miss those eyes? They were as bright and warm as the sun. Specks of gold glittered in them. Not the everyday jewellery kind of gold. But the kind of gold that only God himself could create. Aroused deep from her thoughts, she immediately felt a familiar sense of comfort in them.

Rose stared into those eyes in amazement. She could neither speak nor move nor blink. She could only stare. She was not sure if she was still breathing. She was not sure if her heart was still beating. Her world stopped when he turned to face her. Their eyes met for the first time. Then he began to walk towards her. In her dreamland she began to imagine all the things that could happen. All the right things that could be. There was no way that this could not be FATE. They were meant to be together. Her mind even dared to imagine a future together. She moved from their first conversation together in an old lecture room, to their first date, their first kiss and even their wedding day. Oh my God, what perfection!

As he approached she suddenly came to life and sprung into action. As if finally aware of her surroundings, she cleared the scrap papers that littered her desk and opened a book in an apparent attempt to appear focused. When he finally stood in front of her, in his majestic, awe inspiring glory, she braced herself for what he would say.

She was prepared for the flattery and flirtation. Even prepared for a little ice-breaking joke. Her heart skipped a beat as blood rushed to her face. She longed to dip her face in a bucket of ice to stop the blushing. And when he finally spoke it was with a deep, sweet voice that seemed unreal and out of this world. "Hey, do you happen to know where the bathrooms are?"

Her heart sank. She had almost had a PERFECT day.
