What is the FVL? And not just what number it is set at currently!

The FVL is a system designed to balance voting. Very simply put we designed ShadowBot to allocate votes based on a number of factors. If you understand Bandwidth, you will understand why we need the FVL: https://steemit.com/steemit/@shadowbot/why-we-have-the-fvl-and-why-it-is-a-fair-system

Once you understand that our system is a balancing act NOT a vote for vote system you realize good Steemians rise and abusers are dropped. The key to the FVL is adjusting the over all pool so all get enough.

As you will notice as the FVL is lowered, the amount your pool priority goes down! That is because MORE members are voting MORE posts since they are Fractionally Voting! As we raise the FVL, everyones' Pool Priority rises.

Remember the Pool Priority is also used for the weight your Posts will receive from other members that are over the FVL! Raising the FVL may mean you get less votes, but, you get a higher weighted vote from those over the FVL, which in turns weights the pool very much the same.

So why raise the FVL at all? Well the key right now is resources. We simply can not operate enough nodes to handle the level of growth we are getting with an FVL below 1,000 SP! It just is not possible to weed out abusive accounts without raising the FVL.

Solutions going forward? We have a few ideas we are testing that will allow us to bring in proven good Steemians and Casters to a second metric we are developing that will carry more weight than the current FVL system!

Again, our current system is meant to empower ALL! Our founder and lead dev @bigdeej setup a charitable trust this last week (@deejcharitytrust) and with just 1 Shadow Rank and 23 SP was able to gain 36 votes from ShadowBot! To all new members who think this isn't working, this is proof it does! To those who wish to game our system or think we are an easy get rich quick program, sorry, we aren't! Work hard and watch in the next few months how much you earn!
