We all have the right to vote as a citizen of a particular country, but it seems like the right is take away from us without us even knowing, because we cast vote to make sure an existing government is out of power or continues. But in real sense, our vote don't count, they (electoral body) do what so ever the want with our votes.

In some countries, act of voting is something not everybody takes serious, even if it means a lot to others, it's feels like a burden to some too. There are many reasons fueling the minds of people who develop the mentality of "no voting", one which is because of the high increase in corruption in a particular country.
In the world today and in my country precisely, the rate of corruption, insecurity and bad government is very high and it's not going as if it's ending any time soon.
I don't actually believe that a country who don't has my interest in hand should also have my vote support. The promises they made during their primary election are just empty word, Once they are given the privilege of occupy that governmental sit, it's as if the. I dint actually know the reasons, or many because they have they hide the bad part in them or because they also have to listen their political god-father and also put their interest in hand.
We are not participating in a free and fair election, we are just there for the world to see we are casting our votes and after the votes, some people in charge change the results and give the win to whom they like or who promises to put their interest at hand.
i don't actually think that voting determine the results of an election, because corruption has taken over the hearts of men.
Voting should not be compulsory, it's should be a choice, "why" because what we see is not what really happens. Here, you see people say our votes count, but it's doesn't, their vote is what counts not ours. Even if we vote with the intension of changing the old government because of it's bad records, it don't count.
Another reason is that our political system is dieing or should I say it's dead, on like before when the voice of the citizens meant a lot in the country. And it's one of the reason why citizens show lackadaisical attitudes towards voting in a country.
If peradventure the government comes up with an idea of punishing any grown-up citizens who don't vote, it show how the rate corruption has risen to, that means election is no longer free and fair, it has become a do-or-die affair which will make people leave the country, protest against that acts and also hate the government.
This time, I don't think Democratic is still practiced, because they are gradually introducing dictatorship in the country.
As the world is changing technology-wise and all, so is our electoral system changing.
