Making Tribes on Hive
So Im going to share a few things for both myself and perhaps anyone else who may have things to add or comment on.
Prior to becoming a member of the #Hive, I was searching all over for online games to play. I was looking for an online multiplayer game where I had ownership over the assets that I could accumulate, and while I spent the greater part of a year looking, there was one game that caught my attention. #Splinterlands.
#splinterlands caught my eye amongst everything out there. I found it on YouTube and didn't take me long to realize it was in part what I was looking for. And as I watched this animated dragon named @clove71 play this game of cards, she started explaining this wonderful thing called "DEC" which she was able to earn by winning matches. A type of crypto-currency. #DEC (Dark Energy Crystals).
And plain as day I got to see her take this special "DEC" she had won, and extract it into her "Hive Wallet" where she showed that she was able to exchange it for all sorts of other types of tokens including "Bitcoins". Without fees to boot at https://hive-engine.com/.
After some time of looking through the game's website I decided to make the leap of faith and make the $10.00 deposit to play.
After playing a little while and getting the hang of things, I wanted to "deposit" my tiny bit of DEC I had into my "Wallet" so I could explore what was possible. That didnt go smooth at all though.
I ended up depositing 10 DEC into a Steem Wallet, and the problem was is that I didnt know anything about wallets or what #Steemit was or #Peakd... None of that. Never heard of Keys before, I was familiar with a simple password, but definitely nothing about keys.
So I wrote to splinterlands and @yabapmatt responded and helped me to understand a few things involving the wallets. I got mixed up of course and not understanding I had a wallet made already from when I joined splinterlands, I went and found my way to #Ecency where I proceded to make another #Hive Account. What another seperate account is good for... I'm not quite sure yet, but perhaps it is useful for something.
Anyway, once I had acquired the account and was on the ecency website I realized there was a lot more to this than I originally thought. I was confused because I didnt expect to be in a type of blogging platform. I wasnt really into blogging or that type of thing at the time. Although I noticed people being paid various types of tokens for the content they blogged about, and that intrigued me. Also at the time I had no clue how exchanges worked, or what staking was, and pretty much everything seemed pretty foreign to me and didnt make much sense. But none the less it was interesting to see and learn about.
I took time also to understand that some tokens have dedicated Tribes and what tribes were exacly. In a way they remind me of how groups work on other social media sites like facebook except it is by far way better than anything I seen so far.
Well it didnt take me long to start reading up on the various tokens and I started playing all the games I could find to try and start creating a diverse portfolio. Most of the consistent games I found: #Dcity, #Splinterlands, #Exode, #Rabona, #Rising-Star, #Kryptogamers, #Cryptobrewmaster, #FarmFarmer, #epicdice
Time flies when your having fun!!
so please excuse me temporarily and
To Be Continued.....
