I knew I would get to meet some of my Hive virtual friends one day, and just a few days ago, it happened.
On Tuesday morning, around 9am, when I wanted to launch into the depths of the loads of work I had for the day, I received a "Hiiii" from @toryfestus, whose contact I saved as "InnocentGirl" due to what led to our connection. We talk very often but not everyday, so when I saw the message, I knew she was up to something, and I jokingly asked if she had given birth because that's the first thing that came to my mind, since I've been expecting good news from a lot of pregnant relatives. Oh yeah, I knew she wasn't pregnant, and she laughed over it because she understood the humour.
She said she just passed my town, my thoughts came to her, and she decided to drop a "Hiii".
I immediately queried her as to why she hadn't stopped the bus. I insisted that she should tell the driver to stop, and she would continue her journey from there, but it was already late. From one conversation to another, we planned for her to stop over when she was returning from where she had gone. It worked out, and around 2pm, she called to say that she was in my city already. I directed her to my workplace, and within 5 minutes, the bike drove her to my workplace, and for the very first time, I saw the face of the person I had been talking to on the phone for years. I had seen her face many times via video calls, and when I saw her, she was the exact person, though more beautiful than what I used to see on video calls.
"InnocentGirl!" I screamed, and she couldn't contain her emotions either.
I asked her what she would like to eat or drink, and she surprised me and requested a local dish instead of the usual junks that every lady asks for whenever they visit someone for the first time. I bought her 'Starch and Owo', a delicacy for Isokos and Urhobos.
Without shyness, she washed her hands and ate the food in my presence while we talked and laughed about many things.
We had a nice 3 to 4 hours together laughing over many topics as we usually do on phone calls.
It was a memorable meeting, and as I assured her, I saved all the photos on my drive so I don't lose them.
Thanks for reading.
