Mr Robertson who was a successful musician in the 1960s, took to drugs and abused many substances. He lost his fortune because of this terrible habit. He had sang his rock and roll music in the presence of more than 15, 000 people during his career.

Soon in the 1980s, Mr Robertson decided that there's no more to life but to take his own life. He drove more than 2 hours from his house in California to a notorious and mysterious cave which has many confusing pathways where explorers and people with suicide tendencies have gone and never returned. He packed his car and took a touch and went into this dreaded cave. He walked on for many hours until the battery of his touch ran down. He has lost his way out so he lay on the floor and was ready to die in the thick darkness.

Mr Roberson was a good Christian before he took to Rock and roll music and then to drugs. As he closed his eyes to pray, he heard a voice ask him, what he wants to do, and why he wants to take his life and he began to recount how he has been a good person but he could not break the habit of drugs. The voice reminded him of how God has been good to him and how he has had a good wife and mother. How God has spared him and made him a success.

According to Mr Robertson, these thoughts were like an electric shock sent down his spines and he began to grope in the thick darkness and miraculously he followed a path that led him out of the evil cave and he saw his mother waiting for him outside. When he asked she told him the Lord sent me to fetch you here.

In Isaiah 43, the Lord told the Israelites not to remember the former things (deliverance from Egypt, miracles of Canaan etc) because He is doing a new thing. God was not telling them to forget His goodness. He was saying that by them remembering the miracles He did to their ancestors that the new things He will do can't be compared with them.

Have you been at the verge of giving up? Have you suffered bad breaks, disappointments, spent a fortune seeking medical helps, lost someone very dear to you? Do you think there's no more to life but to hope for the worst? Have an attitude of remembering the good things God has done for you.

You know it's easy for people to forget the 100 good things you do to them because of the 10 bad things you did to them or what you didn't do. Well, that shouldn't stop you from being a good person. God can never get tired of doing good things for us. He is a faithful Father.

When expectations are not met, we tend to forget the former things of life. Unmet expectations are enemies to gratitude. As believers, it's easy to forget what God has done because of what we want Him to do and if He doesn't do it in our time, we get angry and throw tantrums. Quit being a baby Christian. Grow up and be an adult who can endure afflictions for a season.

During the period of hardship and bad times what should keep us going is remembering what God has done. Periodically and deliberately, we should count our blessings and name them one by one.

Oprah Winfrey the famous American TV presenter, said that she keeps a gratitude note where she records all the good things and names of people who affected her life daily.

An attitude of gratitude elevates us to higher altitudes in life. Instead of counting the bad things that has happened to you, count the good and like the song writer wrote, it will surprise you what the Lord has done. Has God ever answered your prayers? If He has then know that He can do it again and again. Your father God is preparing for you a "Behold" moment.

For you to experience the "Beholds... I do a new thing" of your destiny you need to keep the attitude of remembrance. Thanks everyone.
