Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.

Hacks è la classica serie di cui vorrei chiacchierare a lungo, uno di quegli show che vorresti che tutti vedessero e di cui tutti dovrebbero innamorarsi, almeno un po'.
Descrivere il perchè ciò dovrebbe avvenire è, però, impresa ardua. Avere la certezza che chiunque possa invaghirsene è questione tutt'altro che scontata.
Fatto sta che Hacks rappresenta l'esempio di serie televisiva in grado di condensare al suo interno una storia coerente ed intrigante, delle interpretazioni di livello altissimo, un'alchimia invidiabile fra le 2 attrici protagoniste, risate garantite ed un intimo viaggio nella vita di una donna sul viale del tramonto professionale.
Quella donna è Deborah Vance, interpretata magistralmente da Jean Smart (Fargo, Mare of Easttown, Watchmen), attrice che qui ottiene la sua tardiva e meritatissima consacrazione grazie ad un ruolo che le calza a pennello e che fa emergere tutti i suoi pregi attoriali e la capacità, davvero clamorosa, di cambiare registro con una facilità disarmante.
La sua Deborah Vance è una donna tenace e gagliarda che, arrivata ben oltre i 60 anni e con quasi 2500 show all'attivo nel suo amato "Palmetto", uno dei più celebri casinò e palazzi di Las Vegas.
Ah, dimenticavo, Deborah Vance è una celebrità negli Stati Uniti. Un'istituzione a Las Vegas. La sua fama, ed il rispetto che tutti le concedono, è dettato dallo status di cui ella gode nell'arena della Stand Up Comedy statunitense, lei che è stata una delle prime donne d'America ad intraprendere quella strada molti decenni fa.

Lei, che ha sempre fatto divertire il suo pubblico, lei che ha reso la vita una commedia è attesa da una intima tragedia dalla quale nessuno può sfuggire.
Hacks è Deborah Vance, il suo dramma, la sua storia, la sua verve ma è anche la storia di Ava, interpretata dalla rivelazione Hannah Einbinder (di cui ammetto di essermi serialmente innamorato) che qui dimostra di essere molto più che la nipote di sua maestà Paul Newman.

As usual, today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of a post that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to give you constantly, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see at www.serialfiller.org.

Hacks is the classic series I'd like to chat about at length, one of those shows you want everyone to watch and fall in love with, at least a little.
Describing why that should happen is, however, a tall order. To have the certainty that anyone could fall in love with it is a matter far from obvious.
The fact is that Hacks represents the example of a TV series that can condense within it a coherent and intriguing story, top-notch performances, an enviable chemistry between the 2 lead actresses, guaranteed laughs, and an intimate journey into the life of a woman on her professional twilight.
That woman is Deborah Vance, played masterfully by Jean Smart (Fargo, Mare of Easttown, Watchmen), an actress who here achieves her belated and much-deserved consecration thanks to a role that fits her like a glove and brings out all her acting merits and her truly resounding ability to change register with disarming ease.
Her Deborah Vance is a tenacious and gangly woman who, having arrived well into her 60s and with nearly 2,500 shows under her belt in her beloved "Palmetto," one of Las Vegas' most celebrated casinos and mansions.
Oh, I forgot, Deborah Vance is a celebrity in the United States. An institution in Las Vegas. Her fame, and the respect everyone accords her, is dictated by the status she enjoys in the U.S. Stand Up Comedy arena, she who was one of the first women in America to take that path many decades ago.

She, who has always entertained her audiences, she who has made life a comedy is awaited by an intimate tragedy from which no one can escape.
Hacks is Deborah Vance, her drama, her story, her verve but it is also the story of Ava, played by the revelation Hannah Einbinder (with whom I admit I have fallen serially in love) who proves here to be much more than the granddaughter of His Majesty Paul Newman.
