Come di consueto oggi vi porto dentro una nuova Anteprima di un articolo che fra qualche giorno o settimana vedrete Nella Mente di un SerialFiller, il mio blog interamente incentrato sul mondo delle serie tv e di cui, da qualche mese, ho deciso di regalarvi costantemente, in anticipo su quello che pubblicherò, gran parte dei post che vedrete su www.serialfiller.org.

Molti, moltissimi, però, stanno lamentando una scarsa efficacia della serie tv più attesa degli ultimi anni, una serie per cui un miliardo di dollari è stato già stanziato ed altre decine di milioni di dollari potrebbero essere messe a budget per permettere allo show di essere all'altezza delle aspettative.
Come i primi episodi ci hanno dimostrato, però, non basta avere un budget elevato ed un materiale di partenza pazzesco per garantire qualità e successo. Nella maggior parte dei casi, infatti, sono gli autori, gli sceneggiatori, gli showrunner e gli attori a fare la differenza ed in questo momento, The Rings of Power, sembra essere sprovvisto di autori, sceneggiatori, showrunner ed attori di livello.
Il ritmo latita, la scrittura non è efficace, la storia non decolla, i personaggi non lasciano il segno.
Partings, quinto episodio dello show, sarà riuscito a limare qualche dettaglio e recuperare il gap accumulato negli scorsi episodi?

La risposta è si, ma frenate gli entusiasmi, i difetti son tutti ancora lì ma vengono acuiti da un ritmo leggermente più veloce, molte svolte narrative, la netta sensazione che ci si stia preparando per il gran finale, un'epicità più concreta ed uno svolgersi degli eventi molto più organico.
Se analizzate questo episodio, infatti, tutti i protagonisti principali hanno un discreto spazio, da Galadriel ad Isildur, passando per Durin ed Elrond, per finire ad Arondir, Nori e Adar.
Ci sono tutti e questo consente alla storia di non sfilacciarsi.
Avvertiamo, come dicevo, un concreto passo avanti rispetto agli eventi.
Adar raduna il suo esercito.
Arondir compie il suo destino accanto agli uomini.
L'alto re rivela ad Elrond la verità.
Elrond e Durin sugellano la loro amicizia con un nuovo patto.
Nori e l'uomo misterioso hanno un incontro-scontro che li porta ad uno step successivo del loro rapporto.
A Numenor si è pronti a salpare.
Halbrand abbraccia il suo vecchio/nuovo ruolo.
Galadriel conquista la fiducia di molti.
E' un episodio che, pur non brillando, racconta qualcosa e va avanti e questo è, in ogni caso, un buon segno.

As usual, today I am bringing you inside a new Preview of an article that in a few days or weeks you will see In the Mind of a SerialFiller, my blog entirely focused on the world of TV series and of which, for the past few months, I have decided to constantly give you, in advance of what I will publish, most of the posts you will see on www.serialfiller.org.

Let's not hide it.
So far, The Rings of Power has disappointed us greatly.
Some are hopeful.
Some others look at the glass half full.
Others are blinded by spectacular CGI.
Many, many, however, are lamenting a lack of effectiveness of the most anticipated TV series in recent years, a series for which a billion dollars has already been allocated and tens of millions more could be budgeted to allow the show to live up to expectations.
As the first episodes have shown us, however, it is not enough to have a big budget and crazy source material to guarantee quality and success. In fact, in most cases, it is the writers, showrunners and actors who make the difference, and right now, The Rings of Power, seems to be lacking in level-headed writers, screenwriters, showrunners and actors.
The pace is lacking, the writing is not effective, the story does not take off, and the characters do not make their mark.
Will Partings, the show's fifth episode, have managed to iron out a few details and make up for the gap accumulated in past episodes?

The answer is yes, but curb your enthusiasm, the flaws are all still there but they are exacerbated by a slightly faster pace, many narrative twists and turns, a distinct feeling that we are getting ready for the grand finale, a more concrete epicness and a much more organic unfolding of events.
Indeed, if you analyze this episode, all the main protagonists are given a fair amount of space, from Galadriel to Isildur, via Durin and Elrond, and ending with Arondir, Nori, and Adar.
They are all there and this allows the story not to fray.
We sense, as I said, a concrete step forward in events.
Adar gathers his army.
Arondir fulfills his destiny alongside the men.
The high king reveals the truth to Elrond.
Elrond and Durin seal their friendship with a new covenant.
Nori and the mysterious man have an encounter-clash that takes them to the next step in their relationship.
In Numenor, one is ready to set sail.
Halbrand embraces his old/new role.
Galadriel wins the trust of many.
It is an episode that, while not brilliant, tells something and moves forward, and that is, in any case, a good sign.
